4-H Judging Competition Opportunties

Do you have an interest in poultry production? 4-H Poultry Judging maybe the competition for you. 4-H Poultry Judging is not a 4-H Presentation or Demonstration Event; it is classified as a 4-H Activity. A poultry judging team is composed of 3 or 4 members from a county. The combined scores of the 3 high team members will be counted as the team score. The team judges each of the following divisions: DIVISION I: Egg Production Past Production Hens, DIVISION II: Market Poultry - Ready to Cook and Parts Identification, DIVISION III: Eggs: Interior, Exterior and Broken out Eggs.

Are you a plant geek? Do you love gardening, plant identification? If so the Horticulture Judging and Identification Contest is a great way to introduce yourself to the very cool stories that plants are hoping to tell. This contest is a training program concerned with teaching youth to recognize and identify some of the most important horticultural crops, to learn criteria influencing quality and to be able to answer questions and solve problems relating to the art and science of horticulture. There are three portions of the test, including knowledge, judging and identification.

Wilkes County 4-H is seeking youth who are interested in competing in the following age categories 4-H junior (ages 9-13) or senior (ages 14-18) in either Poultry or Horticulture Judging Contests.
